During my second year of university, I interned with my school’s Sodexo branch and designed promotions for campus-wide dining events. The work ranged from dietitian cards that encouraged healthier choices to full event branding for Cram Jam, Earth Day graphics built around animal illustrations, and a karaoke night campaign where I turned “The Voice” judges into approachable caricatures to catch student attention.

Role

Graphic Design Intern. Owned design execution for multiple event campaigns, creating illustration, layouts, and production-ready exports across print and digital placements.

  • Building attention-getting event visuals that still read clearly at a glance

  • Developing illustration styles that match the campus look and feel 

  • Adapting one concept into multiple formats, including posters and social headers

Strategy & Concept

Campus promotions have seconds to work. The strategy was to lead with friendly, character-driven visuals and pair them with clean hierarchy so the “what, when, where” stays obvious whether the piece is viewed on a phone, a social page, or printed on the wall.

System Breakdown

Illustration system

  • Created simple, bold character illustrations that reproduce well in print and on screens

  • Kept shapes and color blocking consistent so each campaign feels cohesive

Multi-format layout templates

  • Built repeatable layout rules for posters, social headers, and digital placements

  • Maintained readable typography and spacing for quick scanning

Production workflow

  • Sized and exported assets for each channel with consistent naming and clean finals

  • Ensured print pieces were ready for posting and display

Outcome & Reflection

Delivered a range of event promotions that felt lively and student-friendly while staying clear, consistent, and easy to deploy across channels. 


A good campus campaign makes the event feel fun before anyone even shows up.
