This project includes the design of a full-length Impact Report and a Bi-Annual Report for the Council of Korean Americans, developed as part of a cohesive series to communicate achievements, outcomes, and ongoing work to a donor audience. The goal was to reinforce trust and transparency through strong hierarchy, consistent branding, and data presented in an accessible, publication-ready format.

Role

Senior Graphic Designer (Gimga Group) — Led production layout and report system execution; managed versioning, asset prep, file organization, and export/package delivery for print and digital distribution.

Focus
  • Production design and layout execution across long-form reports and supporting spreads

  • Versioning, resizing, and formatting updates through stakeholder review cycles

  • Exporting, packaging, and delivery-ready outputs (print + digital PDFs)

  • File hygiene: paragraph/character styles, linked assets, naming conventions, version control

  • Brand consistency across typography, grids, imagery, and data presentation

Strategy & Concept

Donor-facing reporting needs to feel credible and easy to scan: clear structure, controlled typography, and consistent visual pacing. The strategy was to treat the work as a repeatable series system—establishing layout rules, modular components, and a consistent approach to data/imagery—so the reports could evolve through revisions without losing cohesion or readability.

System Breakdown

Series Framework

  • Consistent grid + page architecture across report types to establish a recognizable “Impact Series” look and feel

  • Modular page components for recurring content (section openers, callouts, sidebars, stat blocks)

Typography & Hierarchy

  • Defined typographic tiers for donor scanning (headline/subhead/body/captions)

  • Standardized paragraph/character styles to reduce errors and speed production updates

Data + Content Modules

  • Repeatable treatments for charts, tables, and quantitative callouts to keep data readable and consistent across spreads

  • Layout pacing that alternates narrative + outcomes so longer sections don’t feel dense or monotonous

Production Workflow

  • Organized file structure for collaboration (linked assets, packaged handoffs, revision naming)

  • Export prep for print and digital distribution, including QA for consistency, missing links, and final deliverable cleanliness

Outcome & Reflection

The final deliverables created a cohesive reporting system that supported donor communication through clear storytelling, consistent data presentation, and production-ready execution across formats.

Strong reporting design earns trust when the system is consistent—and the production is flawless.
