Fulaa Lifeline International is a nonprofit supporting orphans from South Sudan who were displaced due to escalating violence. This project focused on creating promotional and outreach pieces that communicate the mission quickly, respectfully, and consistently, so the organization could build awareness and encourage support. The work received a Silver Student ADDY Award in 2018.

Role

Designer. Developed the visual system and executed a coordinated set of print and digital materials, from concept through production-ready layouts.

Focus
  • Clear storytelling for nonprofit outreach across multiple touchpoints

  • Strong hierarchy that keeps calls to action readable at a glance

  • Consistent brand look across print, web, and social formats

  • Print polish for collateral intended to be shared and mailed

Strategy & Concept

The strategy was to lead with human-centered photography and pair it with a calm, structured layout system that makes the message easy to absorb. Each piece was designed to work on its own, while still feeling like part of the same campaign, whether someone encountered it as a brochure spread, a magazine ad, or a social post.

System Breakdown

Messaging and hierarchy

  • Built a repeatable structure for headline, mission statement, and next-step call to action

  • Used short blocks of copy and clear spacing to keep content approachable

Cross-channel consistency

  • Adapted the same visual language across print, outdoor, web, and social comps

  • Maintained recognizable color and layout cues so materials feel connected

Print collateral and donor touchpoints

  • Designed coordinated stationery and donor-facing pieces to support outreach and follow-through

Outcome & Reflection

Delivered a cohesive set of promotional materials that helped Fulaa communicate its mission across key channels, recognized with a Silver Student ADDY Award.

A good nonprofit system makes it easier for people to understand the need and take the next step.
