While at Gimga Design Group, I developed a suite of promotional and event materials for the Town of Vienna, VA Economic Development Division (EDD) to support community outreach and small business engagement. For the Viva Vienna town fair, I designed booth and handout materials—banners, posters, fans, rack cards, and interactive bingo cards—to drive foot traffic and create clear, conversation-starting touchpoints with volunteers and attendees. I also created a bi-fold pocket folder for new business onboarding and additional collateral for Economic Business Week, maintaining approachable, consistent visuals across the full set.
Role
Senior Graphic Designer (Gimga Design Group) — Led production design and execution across a multi-deliverable collateral suite, and built a lightweight project management system to track event materials, deadlines, and ongoing social media requests.
Focus
High-volume production design across event and outreach deliverables
Versioning, formatting, and print-ready mechanical setup
Brand-consistent systems across varied formats and sizes
Asset organization and delivery-ready packaging for handoff
Fast-turn updates to support live event timelines and stakeholder feedback
Strategy & Concept
For public-facing community events, collateral has to do two jobs: attract attention quickly and communicate clearly at a glance. The strategy was to create a unified, approachable visual system that could flex across signage, handouts, and onboarding materials—so EDD staff and volunteers could guide conversations, promote programs, and distribute information consistently throughout the event cycle.
System Breakdown
Visual System + Consistency
Designed a cohesive layout approach (type hierarchy, spacing, consistent headers and modules) that scales from banners to small handouts
Maintained recognizable EDD/Vienna branding across all touchpoints
Engagement Tools (Event-first design)
Built interactive pieces (e.g., bingo cards) to encourage booth interaction and volunteer-led conversations
Designed quick-scan materials (rack cards, posters, signage) to highlight programs clearly
Production Workflow
Created and maintained a project management system to track multiple events, required materials, timelines, and recurring social media requests
Organized files for collaboration (linked assets, naming/version conventions) and packaged deliverables for clean handoff
QA’d outputs for print accuracy and reliable digital distribution
Outcome and Reflection
The final collateral suite supported EDD’s outreach across multiple events and audiences, providing consistent, easy-to-use materials that were production-ready and adaptable across formats.
When the system is consistent, multi-format outreach becomes faster to produce and easier to use in real event environments.
